Summer Heat

It's a beautiful day in New York City. Sunny, warm and breezy. But the weather isn't always so agreeable. Yesterday was humid and sticky. When I get uncomfortable and red-faced from the heat, I like to cool off with a shower. Sometimes I just stick my feet in the tub and let the water run over my swollen toes.
One of my most favorite beauty tricks during this time of year is to put my facial toner in the fridge. You can do this with any kind of toner ~ drugstore brand or your favorite luxe brand. Right now I am loving my Mario Badescu Seaweed toner with Aloe extract. Friends, I even convinced my husband to try it out. Simply keep the toner in the fridge and apply to face with a cotton ball or pad. Ahh.

Ingredients: Deionized Water (Aqua), Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice) Gel, Bladderwrack (Fucus Vesiculosus) Extract, Witch Hazel (Hamamelis Virginiana Distillate), Seamollient (Algae Extract).
What do you do to keep cool and pretty during the summer months? Please share your tips.

Blotting Tissues

Today I am going to revisit a product that I've mentioned before on this blog.
Blotting Linens.

I first discovered these tissue-y papers while in Beijing, China. I had purchased a Boscia travel pack that included facial wash, toner and moisturizer. It also came with blotting linens.

Blotting linens should be handed out on the New York City subway. You know, buy a monthly metrocard, get a free package of blotting linens.

These are not regular tissues. They are absorbent papers that suck up your sweat -- without disturbing your makeup.

Just repeat after me, "Pat, Pat, Pat."

Seriously, I am a big fan of blotting linens. I even got my football loving husband to use them too.

A must in humid weather.
